We're Six Months Old Today!

It's hard to believe that only six months ago, we took our first steps and opened the doors of the OpenGov Hub here in Washington, D.C. It's been six months of discovery, learning, laughing, camaraderie, and friendship - and with the way things are looking, we're in for many more rounds.

Looking back on our first six months, we managed to:

  • Initially convince 10 CSOs to sign onto this previously fictitious idea and move their offices to the OpenGov Hub space at 1889 F Street NW. It then didn't take very long at all for 6 more to sign on to give us our Sweet Sixteen number.
  • Run 48 events in our space ranging from info sessions to brown-bag lunches (BBLs), hackathons, and happy hours which brought together local, domestic and international organizations working in the open government, transparency, technology and participation space.
  • Build a DC community following of over 1000 individuals.
  • Forget what it's like to not work alongside other organizations each and every day to bounce ideas around and support one another.

If you haven't had a chance to come by the OpenGov Hub, please get in touch and stop over for a visit. If you'd like to join our already vibrant community and attend upcoming events, then definitely sign up today

Happy six months, OpenGov Hub! And to all our amazing tenants, who are the reason the space is what it is: thank you!
