Join Open Gov Hub team this Summer!

Are you eager to join a community of leading nonprofits and change makers in international development and social impact, working to help make governments more transparent, accountable, and deliver more for their citizens around the world?

Can you work part-time (about 10-12 hours per week) from May - August to support our unique, large, shared workspace and collaborative community?

If so, we invite you to apply for our Community Catalyst Program!

The Open Gov Hub is excited to continue our work-trade Community Catalyst program, which has become a key part of our office space operations and success.

This program helps meet the needs and further activate the potential of our vibrant community, which now includes over 250 people from 45 member organizations.

We are looking for help to keep our world-class coworking space running smoothly on a daily basis. This includes running our front reception desk (we get 1,000+ visitors each month), supporting events (ex: communications and logistics), and offering high-quality, customer service support to members (including basic tech support), and other daily tasks like distributing mail, keeping supplies stocked, and keeping the Hub as a world-class coworking space.

About 85% of your work will be administrative/operations/office management, and 15% will be community building: you will make connections between people and ideas across our network of 45 organizations and 250 people. You will work on a long-term project on topics like open data, combating closing civic space, and strengthening democracies around the world.

This is a work-trade program - the work is unpaid but in exchange for your time you will receive a free hot desk membership (which costs $300 per month). This gives you 24/7 access to our workspace and meeting rooms, and full access to our wide range of Hub events and activities happening almost every day, including members-only workshops, working groups, monthly movie nights and more.

As a member you’ll also get free access to our building’s newly renovated gym, twice weekly yoga classes, and tenant lounge (with ping pong, pool, air hockey, and more).

You might be a great fit if you are a current student or recent graduate, independent consultant/contractor with a flexible schedule, are in between jobs, or new to DC.

Working with us will uniquely and exponentially build your professional and personal network.

We are especially interested in candidates who are adaptable, good-humored, relentless problem solvers, have customer service experience, are comfortable with basic technology, and are passionate about the power of open government to transform the lives of citizens globally.

TO APPLY: Please complete our short application by no later than end of day April 30th - and contact us at if you have questions!
