Community Brownbag: Open Health Data

Lumiata is a Silicon Valley-based startup that has developed big data tools to predict and visualize the risk of patients getting chronic diseases in the future, and its social impact lead has recently joined the OpenGov Hub.

In the first part of this brown bag discussion we will talk about these Lumiata tools, it’s uses and how we’re expanding it to Latin America in a socially responsible format.

The second part of the discussion will focus on OpenMRS a community of 100+ organizations around an open source Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) that has been implemented in 50+ countries and 7 national implementations including Kenya, Rwanda, and Bangladesh. We’ll give an overview of the OpenMRS, it’s uses, where the organization is heading, and how different organizations can use it.
