How to Go Viral Online: A Workshop on the Secrets to Blogging and Using Social Media Effectively

  • Open Gov Hub 1110 Vermont Ave NW Suite 500 Washington, DC 20005 USA (map)

Do you blog regularly or use social media to boost your impact? Do you want to know how to write content that grabs people’s attention (is clicky) and then keeps it (is sticky)? Then this workshop is for you!

Participants will receive training from Dr. Jospeh Romm, author of How to Go Viral & Reach Millions. In 2006, Romm founded Climateprogress.org, which was named one of the “Best Blogs of 2010” by Time magazine.

Romm will explain 5 practical steps to sharply boost your readership and online presence. Please bring a copy of a blog or social media post you are working on and/or an idea for a headline of such a post.

This is the third in a series of Member-Only Workshops at the Open Gov Hub titled Educating and Storytelling for Impact. Non-hub members can request to attend any one of these workshops by emailing yeukai.mukorombindo@globalintegrity.org

Rolling Stone named Dr Romm one of of “The 100 People Who Are Changing America” -- calling him “America’s fiercest climate-change blogger.” New York Times columnist Tom Friedman described Romm as “a physicist and climate expert who writes the indispensable blog climateprogress.org.” CNN host Van Jones calls Romm “The communicator’s communicator.” Romm is author of 10 books, including “How to go viral and reach millions” which was published in June 2018.

This is part of the Open Gov Hub Workshop Series on "Educating and Storytelling for Social Impact." The goal of the series is to help Hub organizations and our network improve their ability to educate people on the policy and social issues they work on, and better tell stories that describe the impact of their work, effectively growing and engaging their audiences.
