International Women's Day Mapathon

You are invited to join DC humanitarian organizations to map in celebration of International Women's Day! This event will be part of a global conversation around women, mapping and OSM. Join the wider conversation by tweeting with #WhenWomenMap hashtag on Twitter.

Many organizations are partnering for this year's Mapathon, including the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team, Missing Maps, YouthMappers, the American Red Cross, the U.S. Department of State's MapGive, and the USAID GeoCenter. Our speakers include Carrie Stokes, Chief Geographer of USAID, and Dr. Marie Price, President of the American Geographical Society and Interim Chair of the George Washington University Geography Department. 

Who: The event is open to the public and all mapping levels are welcome. Training will be provided for new mappers. If you don't already have one, please create an account on OpenStreetMap.

When: 5:30 - 8:00 PM

What to bring: Please be sure to bring your laptop, charger, mouse (if you have one), and a government-issued photo ID to get into the building. Thanks to Mapbox, pizza will be provided!
