OGH Director Joins Accountable Now Panel

We are delighted to announce that Open Gov Hub Director Nada Zohdy has just been selected to serve a 3-year term on the Independent Review Panel of Accountable Now.

Accountable Now (formerly known as the INGO Accountability Charter) is a global membership platform that was founded in 2008 and today has 27 international NGO member organizations who are active in more than 150 countries - including Amnesty International, CIVICUs, GreenPeace, Transparency International, and more.

AN’s Berlin-based Secretariat works with civil society organizations around to world to improve their own accountability practices through a comprehensive reporting process and peer learning. These activities help organizations embed a culture “dynamic accountability” across their work - being open and responsive to their key stakeholders and focused on delivering impact.

The Independent Review Panel is a global group of experts who review and provide feedback on member’s accountability reports annually.

Given her work in the international civil society sector (with a focus on the democracy and governance) over the last decade, OGH Director Nada Zohdy is very excited to join the Panel to help CSOs live up to their values and “practice what they preach.” She believes that this is especially important for those of us advocating for more openness and accountability from governments to also lead by example and clearly illustrate how we are committing to be more open and accountable ourselves.
